Kailash Mansarovar Overland Yatra 2026

Tibet Group Visa (TGV): All travellers from any nation intending to go to Tibet from Nepal must obtain a Tibet Group Visa (TGV) in Kathmandu with the help of a tour operator. To ensure the successful application of the TGV, you should plan to arrive in Kathmandu 6 working days before your travel date.

Travel Insurance: It is strictly advisable and is mandatory to carry a valid Travel Insurance covering the Kailash region. Our trip does not include the price for travel insurance and it is the sole responsibility of the pilgrim/traveller to ensure that he/she is adequately ensured for the full duration of the trip.

Clothing: Casual wear and comfortable walking shoes are recommended to travel to Tibet. Be sure to bring warm clothing as nights and early mornings can be quite chilly to downright cold. Indian woman Pilgrims strictly advisable no Sari. Bring all the film, medicine, cosmetics, personal toilet items etc. that you will need from home as these are difficult or impossible to obtain on the way. A small first aid kit is also a good idea. Also quite useful to have a route map, to know where you are going and have been each day.

What to take: Winter wear: Gore-Tex material though good quality is highly recommended. Down jacket, raincoat or windbreakers, thermal under wears, Jackets, warm trousers &woollen shirts (cotton will also do), warm sweaters, woollen gloves, sun hat, sun glass, comfortable shoes, light leather boots in case of snow, woollen balaclava ('monkey cap') & scarf/dust mask to protect your eyes & nose from dust.

Bring with you: Snacks along the way. Chocolates, dry fruit, toffees, glucose; 'namkeen' etc. Strong water bottle & water purifying tablets. Personal medical kit and Diamox tablet (for'high altitude). Sunglasses (to protect your eyes from UV, which is especially strong in high altitudes). Sunblock or sunscreen lotion, wet tissues (Fresh-ones are excellent to wipe off the dust), clothes-line/clips, needle & thread, deo-spray (handy for smelly boots/feet and for a round of spray in the toilet tent!), toilet paper, torch &spare batteries, daypack (small shoulder bag), Camera & films, Binocular.

Health: This is one of the toughest high altitude road journeys on earth. You Must be physically fit .Generally patients with asthma & heart problems have a problem acclimating to high altitudes. In your interests it is essential you should be examined by your doctor to know about your health condition and your ability to cope up with the rigours of high altitude travel for days in 'no road' conditions, extreme cold, dust, trekking to an altitude of 19500 ft during the Parikrama, etc.

Altitude Sickness: As you are travelling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. This can take a couple of days or more depending on an individual. For this reason alone, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Kayrong (2700m) before moving on to the higher altitudes. Drink plenty of water, be calm, and do not exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour. We also recommend you carry a strip of diamox tablets. Do consult your physician on the dosage. We provide a Gamow bag (a special equipment to prevent sickness from high altitude) on this tour.

Currency: The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan. Yuan 1 = 13 INR. approx. Money can be exchanged at the Nepal Tibet Border. Re-exchange all your remaining Yuan at the end of the trip at the border itself before re-entering Nepal.

Risks and Liability: Kailasha Tours Pvt. Ltd and its associates will put every effort to make your journey smooth and pleasant. However, all the tours in Tibet are conducted strictly under the rules and regulations of Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB). Therefore, Kailasha Tours Pvt. Ltd and its counterpart shall not be responsible for any change and alteration in the program due to unavoidable circumstances such as landslide, road blockage, flood, snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrival, delay issue of permit and visa, sickness or accidents. Any extra cost incurred thereof shall be borne by the clients on the spot. 

Important Notice & Liability Clause: Mystique Mountain Adventure, along with its associates and local partners for the Kailash Mansarovar Overland Yatra, will make every possible effort to ensure that your pilgrimage is safe, comfortable, and well-organized. However, all travel arrangements within Tibet are subject to the rules, regulations, and approvals of the Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) and the relevant authorities of the People's Republic of China.

Accordingly, Mystique Mountain Adventure, its associates, agents, and counterpart organizations shall not be held responsible for any modification, postponement, interruption, or cancellation of the itinerary arising from circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to landslides, road blockages, adverse weather conditions, floods, snowfall, natural disasters, political unrest, government restrictions, flight cancellations or delays, permit or visa delays/rejections, border closures, health issues, accidents, or any other unforeseen events.

Any additional expenses incurred due to such circumstances, including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, meals, evacuation, permit amendments, or other related costs, shall be borne directly by the participant and must be settled on the spot.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

In the event of cancellation, refund requests shall be governed by the cancellation and refund policy specified in this document and shall be subject to the prevailing rules and regulations of the relevant Chinese authorities, including the Chinese Embassy/Consulate, Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB), permit-issuing authorities, hotels, transport operators, and other service providers. Any non-refundable charges already incurred for visa processing, Tibet permits, government fees, hotel bookings, transportation reservations, or other third-party services shall be deducted as applicable.

By confirming the booking, the participant acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions, including the applicable cancellation charges and refund policies.

Cancellation Charges -

• More than 60 days prior to departure: 20% of the total tour cost will be deducted as administrative and processing charges.

• 45–60 days prior to departure: 35% of the total tour cost will be deducted.

• 30–44 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour cost will be deducted.

• 15–29 days prior to departure: 75% of the total tour cost will be deducted.

• Less than 15 days prior to departure or No Show: 100% of the tour cost will be forfeited and no refund shall be applicable.

Visa, Permit & Government Charges

• Chinese Visa fees, Tibet Travel Permit fees, Alien Travel Permit fees, Kailash/Mansarovar entry fees, and other government charges are strictly non-refundable once processing has commenced.

• Any rejection, delay, suspension, or cancellation of visa/permit issuance by the concerned authorities shall not entitle the participant to claim compensation from the organizer.

Unused Services -

• No refund shall be provided for any unused services, including accommodation, meals, transportation, sightseeing, permits, or any other inclusions mentioned in the itinerary.

• Participants who voluntarily leave the tour midway for personal reasons shall not be entitled to any refund.

Cancellation Due to Force Majeure - 

• No refund shall be applicable for tour interruptions, delays, route changes, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond the control of the organizer, including but not limited to landslides, earthquakes, floods, heavy snowfall, road blockages, natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, political unrest, strikes, war, civil disturbances, border restrictions, flight cancellations, or government directives.

• In such situations, any additional expenses incurred for accommodation, transportation, meals, rescue operations, evacuation, or alternative arrangements shall be borne by the participant.

Medical Withdrawal -

• If a participant is unable to continue the journey due to medical reasons, altitude sickness, health complications, or advice from medical personnel, no refund shall be provided for the unutilized portion of the tour.

• Any medical treatment, hospitalization, evacuation, helicopter rescue, or emergency transportation expenses shall be borne entirely by the participant.

Refund Processing:

• Approved refunds, if any, shall be processed within 30–45 working days from the date of receipt of the written cancellation request and completion of all necessary formalities.

• Bank charges, transaction fees, currency conversion losses, and remittance charges, if any, shall be deducted from the refundable amount.

Organizer's Rights:

• Mystique Mountain Adventure reserves the right to cancel or modify the tour itinerary due to operational, safety, governmental, environmental, or unforeseen circumstances.

• In such cases, refunds, if applicable, shall be limited only to the recoverable amount received from concerned service providers after deducting applicable administrative and processing charges.

Final Clause -

• All disputes, claims, and matters arising out of the booking shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

• The decision of Mystique Mountain Adventure regarding cancellation, refunds, itinerary changes, and operational matters shall be final and binding on all participants.

• By making the booking deposit or full payment, the participant confirms that he/she has read, understood, and accepted the above Cancellation & Refund Policy in its entirety.
